i've been on all the types of wellbutrin, and i'm back to the generic because it's what works best for me. for awhile, i was on the SR type, but it made me nauseated, and the rotten egg smell was too much. i tried wb XL, which was super-convenient, but i don't think it was nearly as effective in its actual functioning. i also lost the appetite-suppressing effect when i was on the XL. taking the generic is a little annoying because, for me, it means taking two pills three times a day, but i just take them before meals, and i've gotten used to it. i really think the regular stuff works best for me, but we're all different of course. good luck!
