I have Adult ADHD & depression (seasonal affective depression). I am currently on a combination of Lexapro and Ritalin. I also do experience anxiety, but that may be due to the ADHD. After I was diagnosed w/AADHD I was tested for BPII as well...from what i have heard, the 2 disorders can mimic one another very closely. it is not difficult to get misdiagnosed w/one when in reality you may have the other...i would get as definite a diagnosis as possible before definitively deciding on a Rx regime. Also, i do not think most pdocs would recommend a stimulant (such as Adderall, Ritalin, Dexedrine, etc.) if Bipolar II is suspected, since (as i understand it) the stimulants can CAUSE mood swings. Non-stimulant medications approved for use with ADHD (such as Straterra or Wellbutrin) may be a possibility. What med(s) are you on now, if i may ask?

> What do people take? what if you have depression and anxiety also and mood swings or is that part of it? I'm going to talk to my New Doc about it.. Bipolar II is the lastest diagnosis but I think ADD is also a possibilty.. any thoughts?
