If you're one of the less than 100 registered Babblers who lives in Michigan, you may want to know this.

•Michigan state government schedules mental health brainstorming sessions

"[O]n Monday [Feb. 2, 2004], the state has a chance to start improving mental health care for kids and adults. That's when Gov. Jennifer Granholm's long-promised Mental Health Commission has its first meeting, a marathon brainstorming session in which its 33 members will present their concerns and hear from [the public]. ...

"The commission members -- including mental health consumers, advocates, state and local officials and service providers -- are scheduled to meet the first Monday of the month through September. At that point, the commission will present its suggestions to Granholm...."

(from Detroit Free Press article http://www.freep.com/news/mich/ment30_20040130.htm)

MEETING:
The governor's Mental Health Commission will meet from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday in the Senate Hearing Room on the first floor of the Boji Tower in Lansing. The building is at the corner of Capital Avenue and Allegan Street. The hearing is open to the public.

Meetings are scheduled on the first Monday of every month through September.
