I take Topa for BPII, but it has at the same time cured me of my sciatica, chronic tendonitis and plantar fascitis, all of which I suffered from before I started taking it. All I know is that Topamax must be a great pain killer too, at least for some kinds of pain (sciatica is nerve related, at least...I don't know about the pain in my ankle and foot, which I've had for 3 years...which is now gone...?) As for the depression, Topa is actually used as a mood stabilizer, not an anti-depressant, and is actually known to aggrivate depression is some people. Anyway, check around some more, and good luck with your decision.
