Many of us here take Adderall and we are adults. What is habit forming is your ability to accomplish something while on it. (I think). Your pdoc should and will control it so that you are not abusing it.
Sometimes family practice doctors won't prescribe it due to the fact that it is a controlled substance. Most all psychiatrists will prescribe it to adults because it's very beneficial to many adults.
I would recommend you get a second opinion.
