I've been on remeron for 3 months at 30mg, it was very sedating at first but after a month it didn't sedate me at all and I noticed a slight increase the drive to do things type of energy. Now I'm at 45 mg and it makes me much happier than 30mg, and also a little more energy than 30mg. Also, it took a month for me to notice my depression lifted. I really like remeron it's the only AD that actually worked for me, I haven't been depressed at all since.
Also, as for remeron and dopamine. Remeron I read somewhere that remeron increases the efficiency of dopamine transmission, but did not at all affect and of the dopamine receptors(like D2). I have augmented remeron with dexedrine(15mg), and remeron does increase my concentration ability while taking dexedrine. I attribute this to remeron incraseing dopamine firing efficiency.
I could be wrong though, becasue I'm not a doctor.
I'm just making theories based on what I have read and my personal response to it.
