Just my 2 bits
Is there any possibility of post trauma?
Im am ADD compounded by BP II and PSTD.
Makes for a very complicated picture.
I have been resisting lithium but have started it out of desperation. I have little success with the ADs Ive tried. They help my depression but trigger cycles.
I am taking provigil right now. Seems good so far. Though stims help my focus, they seem to increase my irritability.Speaking for myself but the symptoms of
*Defensivness
*Clausterphobic in crowds and public places
*Anger at co-workers for always complaining & whining
that you list are related to PSTD for me.My response to fear or rejection is anger. Feeling overwhelmed is a fearful feeling for me. Feeling out of control of my enviornment or the stimuli around me can make me panic, from deep rooted fears. Out of a deeply rooted urge to defend my self, i burst out with anger. It has become a knee jerk response and habbit, a form of self preservation that has long outlived its usefulness.
A mood stabilizer can help blunt deep and disturbing emotions, but if there is truama at the root of it, therapy is probalby essential. I have not wanted to have any therapy that provoke my trauma. But I think I have found one I feel safe with called EMDR. I have only had one visit but if you are interested I will report any progress.
all the best to you
