________________________________The "eating disorder" that causes concern and caution with Wellbutrin is Bulemia. In the early days, before the maximum dosage was not limited to 400 mgs/dose, a relatively high percentage of persons taking Wellbutrin suffered seizures. A high percantage of those persons who did have seizures were bulemic. It is suspected that either the cause or the result of the Bulemia in those persons made them susceptible to seizures.
Regarding weight gain, gaining weight is not a common side effect of Wellbutrin. In fact, according to the package insert, more people lose weight than gain weight while taking Wellbutrin.
