My mom has severe insomnia as well (25 yrs) and has also tried everything out there. She is currently taking Restoril (15mg) and REMERON at night to help her sleep. Some nights she passes right out... most nights she's awake all drugged up :( She too was suicidal a couple of weeks ago and thankfully I talked her out of it. She wants to try a sleep study thing.. see what the hell the problem is. I also have a friend who has severe anxiety/insomnia and did ECT... he is a little better ... Hang in there and I wish you luck...
