I take Effexor and Klonopin also, and was on Lamictal for awhile. I didn't experience much in the way of side effects from the Lamictal, which it is known for. The only reason I stopped taking it is because I wasn't getting much of any response at all from it...no stabilization of my mood. It just didn't seem to kick in for me. However, my sister takes Lamictal (also for BPII) and is doing wonderful! Has no side effects, and has never been more stable in her life. So, hang in there, and I hope it works out for you as well as it does for my sis!Here are the side effects I did experience:
headache morning after titrating up
increased irritability with PMS
