I feel less depressed - but still have a lot of lethargy (can't get up the energy to clean my apt., do dishes, laundry, etc), a LOT of daytimes sleepiness and a big lack of motivation. I'm a musician and although some of my "want" to listen to music has returned, I don't feel the passion to perform music. I still don't have any interest in my former hobbies and can barely get off the couch some days. Work has been better - but I just feel like giving up many days because I'm so apathetic.

What about Provigil? I just need a small amount of a stimulant but how to convince her that any are safe? Maybe a switch to Parnate? My other choice is to go to high doses of Effexor + lithium and perhaps a stimulant.

My theory is that apathy/lack of motivation is caused by overmedicating...too much serotonin can cause as many problems as decreased serotonin levels... 75mg is a high dose of Nardil...for me at least, I felt strange whenever I increased my dose from 60 to 75....for what it's worth, most people respond to 45mg...ask you psychiatrist what she thinks about this....on the other hand, many peole have added a mild stimulant (ritalin, etc) to an MAOI with no problems. Parnate is a bit more stimulating than Nardil (probably because of Nardil's effect on GABA)...
