GSK only "improved" this med because the patent on the parent compound is up... they simply reformulated the coating allowing it to be released at a slower rate than wellbutrin SR.

It is convenient, but, in my opinion, hardly an improvement. GSK could have invested the millions spent on repackaging and remarketing this compound on research and development of newer compounds.
