Can a compounding pharmacy tweak a stim?

Posted by utopizen on August 27, 2003, at 22:26:46

I have great results with Desoxyn, but the Desoxyn Gradumets (12-hr) version was discontinued in 2000, so I have to take the short-acting, which lasts about 3-4 hours and lately has been giving me an hour-long lull or something where I feel depressed.

I could ask my doctor if I could add 10mg Spanules in the AM- I tried this before and the depression went away. But that doesn't solve the problem of re-dosing 2-3x/day.

Can't a compounding pharmacy just take Desoxyn and make it in a sustained release form for me?
