From what I understand, yeah, there is a connection between bipolar disorder and migraines... i suffer from both, plus epilepsy as well. Topiramate and divalproex sodium are both used to treat bipolar disorder and prevent migraines, and Lamictal (another mood stabilizer) is useful if you have migraine with aura ("classical" migraine) and I believe, i'm not sure about this though cuz my memory has gotten a bit weird since I started Vivactil, that carbemazepine has a preventive effect as well... and the antipsychotics chlorpromazine, haloperidol, and compazine are all used to treat active migraine symptoms, so you might ask about switching to one of those.
