I was taking it for depression, 15 mgs at night.
Many people cut themselves for the tremendous rush of endorphins your brain releases in responce to the injury. Remeron (and Effexor) are some of the only AD's that have effect on the opiate system.
I took it for 3 months or so and it worked wonderfully. Unfortunately it made me very irritable. In my position this side effect was very distressing.
I regret stopping it now, but jumping back and forth from med to med isn't what my doc wants.
I slept well and ate well (which was good cause I am very skinny 6-1 and 130 lbs)
You will notice that if you take it at night, then you'll feel groggy untill about noon, then you'll feel great (at least for me)Some of those who take it longe term have mentioned the irritability subsides after longer use.
