The Neurontin does help keep me level (I'm diagnosed bipolar one with mixed states). It also has a mild AD affect. I know that sounds contradictory, but it is best described as a calming AD feeling. I can't tolerate any other mood stabilizer. They all make me feel edgy. The neurontin lessons my anxiety as well. I wish the media would give it a rest. There are many negatives and positives about most meds out there, some more than others, but if researched enough, the facts can be swayed in either a pro or con direction on just about any of them.
