Simply said, moclobemide can be an ideal drug for some people. It is usually devoid of significant side effects. However, it is generally considered to be less effective than other antidepressants. Many people experience an improvement within the first week, only to see it disappear, despite increasing dosages. It is not unusual for some people to need as much as 900mg to maintain a therapeutic response. I think moclobemide has been declining in popularity. It is worth a try, though. If you experience a temporary improvement with it, it might indicate that one of the irreversible MAO inhibitors (Parnate, Nardil, Marplan) would work well.

Good luck.
