Will Depakote FATIGUE/DROWSINESS wear off?

Posted by Janelle on June 7, 2003, at 16:44:46

My pdoc increased my Depakote from 250mg at bedtime to 250 mg after breakfast, then after dinner and then at bedtime (grand total of 750) for the next MONTH.

He also had me cut back my SSRI (a lot) which was causing hypomania.

However, now, after I take the am Depakote (250 mg) I feel sluggish, tired, and drowsy.

Yet, that *revved up* agitated, angry feeling is GONE (probably due to reduction in SSRI, and maybe also the Depakote addition).

Does the SEDATION type effect of Depakote wear off, help?!!! I can't stand this! I have to bear with it till my level gets tested in about a week, and if it ain't gone by then, I'm putting in a call and seeing if I can at least stop the am dose and only take it at dinner and bedtime.

Thanks for any input.
