I have a female friend who was in a bad marriage and didn't have sex of any kind (not even by herself) for almost 10 years. During that time she had ZERO interest in it (but could still crack a blindingly funny dirty joke!).
Then she met someone new on the internet and has had *no* problem with sex - either solo or in parallel - since renewing her interest.
Might be different for guys.... but not too different, I'd think. Blokes have a whole set of different neuroses based on fears that it'll "drop off" or something if it doesn't get used! But they're just neuroses, arising from the genetic obsession with virility and manhood that all males seem to have.... *grin*
Not to compare you with animals, but there are many many instances of males of various species who never get to "use it" in any way during most of their lives, but are still willing and capable of siring offspring at an advanced age.... Unlike us females of course, who have the biological clock ticking away in our ears!
Back to my original point though - it's a male thing, thinking that lack of sex leads to some kind of irreparable damage. There are far too many women "going without" for a myriad of reasons in this world, to agree with you there, I think!
