I am new to effexor xr and so far I haven't seen any dramatic results I have only been taking it for about one week now should I be feeling anything yet? I'm afraid it's not going to work at all. Even the side effects are getting less noticable but I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing, I have that old mentality no pain no gain or the worse it tastes the better it will make you! The one thing I have noticed is that it has calmed my irritability because I have been taking it in the morning but it makes me so sleepy that I have decided to start taking it before I go to bed, so yesturday I did not take one all day until I went to sleep and I was really irritated up until about an hour after I took it I calmed back down. A bit of a change of subject, I have been reading all of the posts and threads and the one thing I have noticed is that there is so much negative feed back from all these meds and the side effects are scary from a lot of them, I just don't get it if these medicines are meant to make you feel better why in the hell would anyone take them if all that happens is the side effects make either another issue which you have to take more meds for or they make you feel worse than before you got on them in the first place???!!!! I guess I understand in a way because just like me everyone is out there searching for that one medicine that is finally going to end what ever problems we have within ourselves. As humans we are all searching for the one thing even "normal" people search for and that's happiness. That's assuming that anyone is really normal.
