I am on Topamax and I haven't had any side effects at all except that it makes some food taste bland. I was on Seroquel but now on Geodon. The Seroquel made me extremely sleepy. I am also on Lamictal. Never was on 400 mg not even close, but, the decrease it that dosage may be what is causing your loopy feeling. Are you gradually decreasing your Lamictal? If not you may wish to try that. Stick with it for a while and see what happens. Drink some caffeine.
Summarizing it all I think it is probably the drop in the Lamictal. Although I am not a Dr. I would stick with the Topamax. It will probably cause weight loss though because the way it changes the way things taste.
