Sonata woke me up too early as well, and I generally don't have trouble getting to sleep-the main trouble is staying asleep. I've never tried Ambien. I've never had any trouble with withdrawal effects (next-day) from Klonopin. The biggest hassle I've found is avoiding meds/dosages during the day that tend to trigger/aggravate the insomnia from the getgo. I use Klonopin triple-use as an antimanic, antipanic, and hypnotic. It's also cheap.
