Kava kava

My experience with Kava is that the only form that did something noticeable was fairly fresh root ground up into a soapy, nasty-tasting solution with water (similar to the way people in the South Pacific use it, except that they chew it and spit it into a bowl). And, I had to drink quite a bit (disgusting) to get a mild anxiolytic effect. The capsules don't seem to do much, although I haven't tried all brands. Given the recent evidence of possible liver damage, I avoid it now -- I find benzos much more effective, and they're probably safer.
