Flexeril-antidepressant effects that'll interfere?

Posted by Ame Sans Vie on May 3, 2003, at 22:59:12

I just added Flexeril, 20mg t.i.d., back into my regimen for my fibromyalgia. I still take Neurontin and Soma (prn) for this condition also.

I am concerned, since Lexapro and Tranxene are working so wonderfully for my SP/dysthymia, that Flexeril may have antidepressant effects that will interfere with my current psych treatment. I know it's either very closely related to tricyclic antidepressants or is a tricyclic itself... I'm not sure. Does anyone have experience with this? Or with the tricyclic/SSRI combo in general? Could there be an issue with serotonin syndrome? I also occasionally take 150mg amitriptyline to help me sleep. Thanks!
