Do you mean migraines or tension-type headaches? And how long have you been back on Celexa?

I've had migraines for about 12 years and I had chronic daily tension-type headaches for 10 years. I took 3-4 Darvocet a day for many years. Imitrex has been very helpful for the migraines. The headache clinic I went to and my regular doctor both told me that the daily tension headache was probably a rebound headache from the painkillers. So about 4 years ago, I stopped taking Darvocet or any other type of analgesic for my headaches (still take Imitrex though - not a painkiller). I did get relief from the daily headaches! Now if I take Tylenol or ibuprofen for muscle aches, I do get a rebound headache.

There was a segment on 20/20 earlier this year about the analgesic rebound headache phenomenon, and also an article in the New York Times magazine.

I can't definitively say, but I always feel that the SSRI's give me worse headaches (of the non-migraine type). I've been on Wellbutrin for a few years.

I try to eat well, and staying hydrated helps too, so go ahead and drink (water that is!) There's also biofeedback and relaxation exercises. Physical exercise probably helps too.

So that's my headache story. Hope this helps.

BTW, I got a prescription for Provigil today.
