Seroquel and hyperprolactinemia?

Posted by E1027 on April 29, 2003, at 14:57:27

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced any symptoms of increased prolactin levels while taking Seroquel? I understand that there was no evidence of this in clinical trials, but since going up to 50mg, I've missed my last period and my breasts are swollen and incredibly sore. I think I also read somewhere that in trials with animals, increased prolactin levels *were* observed...

I am manic-depressive and take Seroquel as a mood stabilizer as well as antipsychotic. It has been dramatically successful for me. It's the only thing in years of med trials that has put me sturdily into that "you'll know normal when you feel it" state.

Oh dear.

Any thoughts?
