About the Elavil-
Why Does Elavil Cause a Sweet ToothQuestion: Why does Elavil cause patients to have a Sweet Tooth? It also causes weight gain? use. Why is that? What part of its composition does this?
Answer: It seems to have some effect on the "hunger center" in the brain, exactly what it is isn't clear;but, appears to center around serotonin.
I don't know what you can do other than change your medications (if that is at all possible). I have been on my fair share of meds. that made me eat what seemed like 24/7 at times! I remember your complaint all to well. Make sure you are drinking enough water too on a daily basis, water has ALWAYS (at least 64 oz. a day) helped me to lose weight.
Good luck to you.
