In reply to Prozac or Lexapro? Which packs on more lbs?, posted by Joanie on March 27, 2003, at 15:09:16
Hi, I have never taken Lexapro, but I know many people who have taken Topamax, and have lost anywhere from 50 to 100Lbs. When I took Prozac, I gained 80. I would talk to your doc about this.
I also take Lamictal and haven't gained weight-but Seroquel for me is a weight gainer. Remember though, all these meds are so important for us all to feel better and sometimes we have to outweigh the benefits and risks, sux I know
Good luck:-)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------> I took Prozac for a couple of years and gained some weight slowly, but surely. Then 'bout 5 or 6 months ago, switched to Lexapro and starting gaining weight quickly! I mean, it almost seemed like a lb. a day. Horrible! I love the happy feeling I have with Lexapro but and quitting it because I've gained so much weight. However, I was wondering if maybe I should go back on Prozac. I know I need something. Isn't there anything to take that can make you mentally feel great AND not make you gain? Has anyone else had this experience - the rapid gaining with Lexapro?
> Thanks!
