At the risk of being burned at the stake, Celexa is a really crappy drug. The SSRIs didn't do squat for my PTSD, or anxiety in general. Mood stabilzers and benzos are better for me. Paxil is a great fashion accessory, but it's a week of hell to get off of.
Take it if you need it, but ask a lot of questions up front and understand what you're getting into.
There's new science on anxiety disorders that suggests they are 'slow seizure' events like bipolar is supposed to be. I'm buying this because Trileptal (amood stabilizer/ anti-seizure drug) has stopped my flashbacks and generally made my head a bearable place to live.
SSRIs are not the only option.
