Hello. I was started on effexor today (the time release one), and my doc told me to take 37.5mg a day the first week, and 75mg a day after that. After going through what i've felt today, i am having my doubts about going on with this med.
-I took the first dose at 2pm with a meal.
-Starting about 2.45pm, I started to feel more alert & anxious, which transitioned into an agitated state where my hands shook slightly, my thoughts raced, and I felt very talkative.
-Most of the extreme physical signs of being hyper seemed to diminish closer to bedtime (2am) so I tried going to bed.
-No such luck. Can't sleep. My body feels tired but my mind is totally not ready for sleep.That's my story so far. Please, if anyone went through something similar, or knows something about it, let me know if this is normal; in which case, how long should I expect to have to deal with these effects for? If this seems like an abnormal reaction to anybody, do let me know as well. Thanks a lot for any input.
