severe depression from Lexapro - any suggestions?

Yesterday was day 1 of week 7 on Lex, started on 5mg, went to 10mg at week 6.
Had a very bad day, couldn't get out of bed till real late, didn't want to eat, felt just awful. Slept on the couch most of the afternoon. Could not leave the house.
Totally depressed with no good reason. Has this happened to anyone else? I thought Lex was supposed to help my depression but if yesterday is any indication, it's not working!!
Had to come to work today and I don't want to be here, keep trying to find a place to hide so I won't have to deal with anyone. Any input would be so appreciated, thanks!
