In reply to Anyone on Gabitril???, posted by whitman on February 17, 2003, at 12:02:47
My shrink prescribed Gabitril for me a while back, to help me sleep at night. It took a couple of hours for it to start working (which was longer than I expected), and yes, it has a sedating effect, one that lingers, too - usually staying with me through the next day (at least that's how it was for me). It's also recommended that you take it with food. Even after taking it after a meal, it still managed to hurt my stomach. It will also make you feel a little dizzy. I had no desire to continue with it. Even though it is "sedating", I didn't really feel it did a great deal for my anxiety & OCD. I stopped taking it and my doc gave me Klonopin instead, which I'm much happier with.
