A year or so I tried Remeron because the sleep-regulating side of my Serzone seemed to have pooped out.
It was about the worst experience I have ever had with an A/D. Akathisia is like "restless leg", except it's your whole body. Someone compared it to getting an IV of itching powder. I couldn't keep awake, because the Remeron was such a powerful sedative, but after no more than a minute I would jerk awake again, with this unbearable feeling of having to move my body. I was closer to suicide those nights than almost any time I can remember. Luckily I quit the trial within a week.
Does anyone have any experience or knowledge of a way (such as another drug) to get rid of the akathisia?
