Adderall is a heartbreaker for me. I react very strangely to it because I develop a tolerance extremely quickly -- after only a couple of days. The bummer is that it works GREAT for the first couple of days, then stops working, then I get MORE tired, and if I try to increase the dose I get very sick.

I take very low doses -- usually 5 mg. I recently tried 10 mg. sustained release to see if it would make a difference, and the same thing happened -- worked great one day, not as well the next, then not at all. I thought maybe more would be better, so I tried 15 mg., and was so sick for two days it felt like I had the stomach flu. I also get quite depressed the day after taking Adderall.

I know I just need to stop trying it, but it works so well at first that I just keep hoping against hope it will somehow work for me.

I am not your typical Adderall user, that's for sure. I am very med-sensitive. My husband has been on it for two years -- 20 mg. -- and doing fine on it, but he also gets depressed and fatigued if he skips a dose.

Good luck to you.

cindy.

> i'm on 20mg of adderall 3 times per day, along with 225mg of effexor daily. this is my second time on adderall. both times it has pooped out relatively quickly, in terms of mood lift. this time, i've been on it for two weeks, and it has already significantly pooped out. it still does a good job of keeping me from daytime sleep which is the reason i was put on it to begin with. what i found in the beginning was that it was great for my depression/anhedonia too. it made me feel like doing things. this effect has almost completely gone away in two weeks. perhaps it has something to do with the high dosage i require. by the way, the other thing about adderall is that it was extremely difficult to come off of. i had the most miserable, depression filled 2 weeks after i stopped the medication. i mean awful. i dread having to go through it again. anyone else have this? i felt like i needed to go back on it though after i was unable to stay awake at work every day. it's the only drug i've been on that keeps me from drowsiness.
