There was a guy named Wayne here years ago who was completely cured with Prozac + Naltrexone. This was after decades of trying everything else.

Anyway, because of his success and because of the comments you saw in the Tips section, several of us here sold our doctors on the idea and we tried Naltrexone also. It provided mild transient benefits to some of us and no benefits to the others. I don't think anyone stayed with it except Wayne. For him Naltrexone was magic.

When I started it, nausea was a huge side effect. And just generally not feeling very good. Wayne had a good suggestion for getting on Naltrexone. I tried it and it worked good. Break or cut the pill into tiny pieces. Start the first day with the tiniest piece. Each day go up in size a little bit. It might take, for example, 6 days just to get through the first pill. But that's ok. If you can handle it faster than that, great. Then, expect the drug to kick in, if it is going to, in about 2 to 4 weeks.

The mild transient effect I felt was that of anti-anxiety and just overall mellowness and contentness. My problems had more to do with non-motivational and anhedonic symptoms though, and Naltrexone didn't do anything for those symptoms.

I don't hardly ever drink alcohol. But once in a while when I'm out to dinner I might have a glass of wine. Since I hardly ever drink, I get a big buzz with just one glass of wine and I like it. The strangest thing though, was that on Naltrexone it completely blocked the alcohol buzz. Drinking wine was like drinking kool-aid. I didn't like that part of it. Overall Naltrexone just didn't do much for me.

> in the psychpharmacology tips section of this site, i see that several doctors have had good results with a low dose of naltrexone as an add-on to anti-depressants for people with mood problems. please share experiences. thanks.
