St. Johns Wort -

Keep in mind that "natural" is not necessarily safe. As you are probably aware, dietary supplements are not regulated, and the quality control can vary greatly from one batch to the next. You might want to check ConsumerLabs to see whether they have evaluated the products you are taking. They analyze over-the-counter supplements and report on whether the products contain the ingredients and the amounts of those ingredients that the labels say they contain. There is often a vast discrepancy between what the label states and what is actually there.

According to an article I read recently on Natural Mood Remedies, on msnbc.com, St. John's Wort can change the blood levels of antidepressants, may counteract treatments for HIV and cancer, and interfere with anesthesia. Be sure to tell your doctor about everything you are taking. There are also some excellent drug interaction websites.
