They have such long lives, chemically, that they have survived all the ways that they could have been broken down until there is no environment on the Earth today that is not PCB contaminated. The same goes for DDT, dioxins, PBBs, and all the other Persistent Organic Pollutants. Use that phrase as a keyword search in Google, and see what you turn up.
