Provigil, modafinil, is a wakefullness promoting drug for narcolepsy. It also helps with mental alertness. It's chemically close to a stim but doesn't require triplicate scripts..it's not Schedule II drug.
Ask your doc about it and search the archives here. It's got a bit of a spotty record but works very well for some. I don't remember any SE's. If you want to try another stim, Adderall XR is very good. I took Ritalin for a few years and like this better, it's smoother. It shouldn't poop out for a long time.Hope this helps.
