My pdoc has me convinces that I should stop drinking alcoholic beverages completely.

Here is my reasoning.
I'm on Celexa, Wellbutrin, and Klonopin.

1. Alcohol is a depressant and may interfere with the action of the various drugs I'm using to combat depression.

2. My kidneys and liver are doing enough work on my psych meds. They do not need the extra challenge of alcohol. I might be causing myself harm that I don't even realize.

3. I can live my life quite well without alcohol. Alcohol is not a need. It is a want sometimes. I actually like the taste of fine wines, beers and spirits. Unfortunately for me I have a mental illness that leaves me vulnerable to the agents in alcohol. Unfortunately my medication contraindicates alcohol. Therefore I think my quality of life is better without alcoholic beverages.

This is my 2 cents.

Take Care,
Simcha
