Strange thing about mental illness

Posted by Squiggles on August 10, 2002, at 22:16:28

It has always struck me as very odd
that in most cases of mental illness
there is absolutely nothing wrong with
the rest of the body, but something wrong
with the brain.

I may be generalizing, but in my case for
example, and other people i have met,
i enjoy almost supernaturally good health
and look very young for my age. And yet,
there is something wrong with my brain
presumably.

I know that i am making an assumption here
that an illness cannot be isolated in itself
which is probably false, but i am tempted to
think that if there is something wrong with
your brain, surely it must show somewhere else
in your body.
