Only about 20% of people in the real world lose weight, and those that do lose weight lose an average of 5 kg (11lb) over 12 months. The reason that earlier studies showed larger decreases in weight was that the participants were given diet counseling. Quite a few in the placebo (no-drug) group lost weight, as well.

Your incentive is that the extra weight you put on, increases the risk of Type II diabetes and hypertensione. These "side effects" are more of a pain in the butt (I really wanted to say "pain in the ass", but I heard that there is an anti-cuss lobby here) than an ugly diet and a little jog and swim a couple of times a week could be.

That last little bit of the previous sentence is crucial; many diets will make you lose weight initially, but you do eventually gain it back, many times gaining back even more weight than they initially lost.

You do get some tolerance to the high potency amphetamines like methamphetamine, but you'll hardly notice it because you'll be strung out, and will twitching in sunlight.

As for the weight loss effects..... whoa. I have lost 40+ lbs since taking topamax.... actually 60+ lbs if you include the 20 I put on through the use of the EVIL zyprexa.

ITs been a blessing to me.

I'm furious with my insurance company right now because they say that they won't pay for this months supply....... (which would be $450-ish )
too many refills cumulated??????

I get all my stuff filled together...... so I don't know what the heck the problem is, but I'm kinda worried about quitting COLD TURKEY.
It took a lot of time to work up to 400 mgs...... and I don't know what dropping to zero will do????
I HATE my pdoc, but I guess I will have to swallow my pride and call him............
Unfortunately I can't find another pdoc........around here.
Which is a fairly metropolotin area....... I just don't get it????????

Frustrated!!!
