Restart Prozac With Dep. Lamictal

Posted by Geezer on June 28, 2002, at 9:41:54

About a year ago I had great success with Prozac monotherapy until "poop out". My DX had always been Major Depression/Recurrent but changed to Bipolar II and I now take Dep. 750mg, Lamictal 100mg, Klonopin 0.5mg, and Ambien 10 mg. Now the new pdoc is back to the major depression label again. He has recommended Parnate for my moderate depression and anerga/lethargy. I can remember some significant side effects with Parnate when I took it years ago (just reluctant to go through it again).

Would appreciate opinions on restarting Prozac and any augmentation strategies. Reduction of Dep. or Lam. seems to make depression worse and I am aware of the 2x effect of using the two togeather.

Thanks

Geezer
