Starting on Lamictal

Just about ready to start on Lamictal. My doctor has me starting with 25mg in the morning and 25mg at night. Many of you seem to have started with just one 12.5mg pill.

Is what I'm starting out at seem to be too much? I'm female, 5'7", 135lbs.
