Hi. I was on Lithim for 6 years for misdiagnosed manic depression. I was just plain unhappy. I never had any bad side effects from it, except that it kept me depressed. Lithium usually is only very effective against the "highs". I was unable to cry even when I wanted to. I was able to hold back tears during most stressful events when I normally wouldn't have been able to. oh yeah--you have to have blood-work done regularly too. Every 4 months after you've been on it awhile.
