Sorry about your experience, I have to agree the anti-appetite
effect is pretty strong, i take 400 mg. I like it because it offsets my fatty meds
formerly zyprexa and now serzone. I still have to remind myself to
eat!

> I have been on Topamax for approx. 5 weeks. I started at 25 mg. twice a day, and I noticed no terrible side effects. The meds worked for my moods though. I had suffered terrible mood swings and the med seemed to even them out. At the end of the 3rd week it seemed to stop working for me so them increased the dose to 50mg in the am and 25 in the afternoon. My moods are OK during the day but quicky diminish come evening. HOWEVER, the Weight loss is now kicking in, I have completely lost my appetite and have suffered from an eating disorder in my past this is scaring me. I am supposed to start taking the 50mg in the afternoon also starting monday and Im afraid to, but at the sametime the old me, the one that loved to starve herself is saying yeah yeah take it take it!!!!!!! THIS MED IS NOT FOR SOMEONE WITH A PRE_EXISTING EATING DISORDER and my Dr. new I suffered from this!!!! Not happy with this med for someone in my shoes, for anyone else who can control the effect, I would say Go For It!!
