I am new here and in a bad place. I have been in treatment for addiction for 20 years. Now they are looking at bi polar caused by a childhood trauma back in 1966!!! Only because an upping of my prozac took me on a manic roller coaster ride that nearly took me outta here! I am now off prozac and on 50mg topomax. I am still bouncing off the walls, but in a somewhat stupored manner. The prozac had been the only thing in 20 years that made it possible for me to remain sober and they took it away. The desire to run, to use, to disappear is back with a vengeance. The only saving grace is a man I am with who has had experiece with bi polar and recognized my mania. He is hooking me up with some new Drs. and support groups, but that hateful word TIME is right in my face. Any words of wisdom???
