Vincent,

Let me first share a relevant experience. When I was on Zoloft, splitting the dose, (I took half at breakfast and half at lunch)got rid of a troublesome side effect, a pain in my foot that was definately related to the medicine. But the relief didn't last long as other problems cropped up.

If you go to the psychobabble tips section and plug in "splitting dose", you will read comments by psychiatrists commenting on the effectiveness of doing it. As long as you feel you can remember to take the right dosage, I don't see any harm in splitting it if that's what you want to do. Of course, check with your doctor as I am not a qualified medical professional.

One other thing to consider - The SSRI's caused me to have insomnia and even Paxil did that to me. So if that's a problem for you, you might want to take the dose at breakfast and lunch instead of breakfast and dinner if that's ok with your doctor

Good luck

Misty
