Hey, a fellow Austinite!!!!
Too bad you can't make it here for Mardi Gras
Austin style!

Austin is a good anti-depressant. UT is so
full of life. My University was so boring, it
makes me want to cry when I walk around UT
campus and think about how boring my college
was in comparison.

I love this city. I grew up in the Chicago
area, will never go back.

Best Regards,
John

> Everyone always says if they win the lottery they'll immediately tell their boss that he sucks & that they quit. But here is the truth- you get used to that big house very quickly & life without working or responsibilites get real boring & very depressing after awhile. Mostly you just end up watching TV even though there is nothing on during the day or in the middle of the night.

> I always thought that if I won the lottery than I would never work- I would just sit out by the pool drinking martinis, doing cocaine & partying with strippers. Or I thought I might live a life like Billy Madison & his friends where he lays out by the pool in the sun all day & gets drunk till he passes out.
> I haven't won the lottery, but I don't work & after awhile it gets very depressing. I am 23 & although I live with my parents since I have no money, it is in a beautiful 5000 square foot home. But afterawhile you don't notice how nice the house is, it just seems normal & is no big deal. When you don't work & have no responsibilities, life is pretty boring. No wonder the children of the super rich always end up junkies at the betty ford clinic! The highlight of my day is getting the mail at 2 pm. I used to have to mow the lawn when I was younger which at a 1/2 acre was a real pain but now we get some guy from Mexico to mow it. Ironically, our garderner is saving up to return to Mexico & retire because he said life in the US is too stressful, fast-paced, & you have to work too hard.

> Sometimes for entertainment I go read books & magazines at Barnes & Noble bookstore, which is a weird place in itself because everyone there ignores everyone else while they pretend to read books that they aren't going to buy. When you live in the suburbs, you can't really go out & party at bars because there are no taxis & the bars are atleast a half an hour away. Where am I supposed to meet women? I am 23 but everyone in the suburbs is under 17 or over 40?

> I bet elderly people get depressed so often because when you aren't working your life seems to lack purpose. Something like 32% of old people are alcoholics- I don't drink any more, but if I was so old I couldn't see or watch even the TV I'd be getting wasted all the time & taking all the diladuid, numorphans, & oxycodones, hydrocodones I could get my hands on. Hell, its not like your going to get cirrohsis if you start drinking when your 80 years old! What if you were so old that you were about to die- that is some scary sh*t! I don't think I could die sober, I'd have to ask them to give me a big bottle of vodka or a big shot or morphine to calm my fear if they thought I was going to die. Why people ever kill themselves is beyond me!
>
> & What the heck is the meaning of life anyways?
> & Why am I thinking about all this stuff when i'm only 23?- By the time i'm 40 I am going to turn into a basketcase!
>
> Oh well, I got readmitted to the University of Texas at Austin for the fall. (I had to get a mental health medical withdrawl thanks to those wonderful psychiatric medicines 'Side Effexor XR' & 'Remerzombieon'- ended up wasting $8,000 on room, board, & tuition thanks to those medications. Living in the city (Austin) is much more exciting than living in the suburbs- so much more to do but also lots of everyone's favorite anxiolytic & disinhibitor- alcohol, tempting you at every party. Hopefully my friends Klonopin & 'no-alcohol Iced Tea in a red solo cup' will help me through all the wild weekend college parties. Most of the beautiful but drunkenly dumb sorority girls can't tell your drinking non-alcoholic iced tea- the red cup makes it look like you are drinking some fancy mixed drink.
