Bonnie ann,
I don't have a lot of energy to discribe in detail. But there is a new BCP called Yasmin that just came out July 2000 that is completely different from the rest. It has a new progestin (drosperinone) that has some diuretic properties, so it aids in reducing pms fliud retention and irritability. It also does not have any of the androgenic effects like weight gain, hair loss, etc. I believe it is being marketed as BCP that helps with pms, pmdd. This is quite a claim!

I have been on it about 2 months taking active pills only (I have a rather progressive Gyn). And after some break thru bleeding I am period and pms free. This is nice. But unfortunatley did not stop my emotional cycling, like I had hoped. It's not a miracle cure, but it is the only BCP that I have been able to tolerate more than a few days.

Try a WEB search on Google.com and type in Yasmin and depression. It is definitely worth looking into.

Chloe
