> Has anyone experienced extreme lightheadedness when taking Serzone or Buspar. Especially when I was taking them both I was a mess. Although it was a side effect of the meds my doc didn't realize how serious I was about wanting the dizziness to stop. I would even see trails at times, especially when I just woke up and I was dizzy. What else should I take that may have side effects a little more tolerable. hmmmm...
> For now I'm almost finished coming off the serzone and will be going naturalistic until I hear of something a little less bothersome. On top of the side effects the serzone didn't really work. Only for the first few months if that. The buspar I stopped so fast that I can't be sure of it's effectiveness. Mixed with 500mg of serzone it was too much to handle.

Probably both drugs was causing you to feel dizzy and this side effect is usually dose-dependent. FYI, Serzone is marked inhbitor of the liver enzyme called CYP3A4. BuSpar is mainly metabolized by this enzyme. The combination of Serzone and BuSpar led to an increased the blood level of BuSpar which adds to the problem. Serzone in itself can cause dizziness. If you happen to drink grapefruit juice, this problem is then compounded.

The visual trails you experienced are most likely due to the Serzone. This too, is dose-dependent. Lowering the dose of Serzone usually helps. The medical term for this side effect is "palinopsia." Trazodone, which has some structural similarity to Serzone, has also been reported to cause palinopsia.
